RLE

In 1992 Baker and Cai described a Raster Landscape Ecological spatial analysis package (RLE).

This program operates within GRASS GIS and can be used to calculate over 60 measures of landscape structure. These include calculations of distance, shape, fractal dimension, perimeters, diversity, texture, juxtaposition, and edges.

It has multi-scale analysis capabilities, allows moving window analyses and is specifically designed for patch data.
