Analyst
Gustafson
and Parker (1992) expanded the functionality of SPAN in their software called
HISA (Habitat Island Spatial analysis).
The additional routines
included in this spatial analysis program involved the calculation of proximity,
patch elongation, linearity, interior core area and edge area.
