Maintaining GIS standards Once the GIS is created it is important to continue
to manage the system and to maintain data standards. This is particularly
important when data sharing occurs eg between cooperating organisations.
In the crocodile nesting case study cooperating organisations are the CDU and Crocodylus Park. Standards
are also important for achieving validity in the work done. It is important to standardise the data formats and
coding schemes used.
