The focus for landscape ecology
Landscape ecology focuses on three characteristics of
landscapes:
- Structure - spatial relationships between landscape
elements, also called 'pattern'.
- Function - the interaction between spatial
elements. Function also refers to the processes that operate within
the landscape.
- Change - the alteration of structure and function
over time.
Use the puzzle pieces to find out about these characteristics.
