Instigators of change
Climate and geomorphology
are the two main instigators of natural change.
- Climate - affects organisms
by temperature and water availability
- Geomorphology - affects the
form of the land surface
Geomorphic processes operate differently in different
climates, affecting the way the landscape evolves. Seven processes that
influence the evolution of landforms are:
- plate
tectonics
- erosion
- deposition of materials
- glaciation
- establishment of plants and
animals
- soil development
- disturbance
