Assessment Information

This unit is ungraded, so the only ’pass’ grade you will receive is 'CU' (Competent, ungraded). If you receive an 'NC' grade you are deemed Not-yet-competent. If you start this unit but you fail to complete all the assessment in this unit, you will receive an IP (Insufficient participation) grade.

To add vlaue to your study here at CDU, and to provide you with the latest vendor qualifications, Cisco's CCNA 1 course is embedded into this subject. Cisco provide a great deal of equipment and other resources to the School of IT so that we may run these courses. Cisco also boasts one of the finest online curriculums anywhere in the world today.

To be awarded the Cisco CCNA 1 Certificate as well as a CU grade for this subject, you are required to score 80% or more in the final exam, plus pass all practicals. If you score 50% or more, but less than 80% in the final exam and complete all practicals, you will receive a 'CU' grade for ITP403, but you will not be awarded the CCNA 1 Certificate.

Students who intend to study the Diploma in IT should score over 80% in the final exam.

Assessment Presentation

Presentations of working practical exercises must be done during practical time.

Students must be able to explain any aspect of the presented practical exercise to the tutor.

The final exam is conducted online in a supervised exam environment on campus in Week 17 of the semester. Students may resit this exam the following week.

Results are closed at the end of week 17.
