Completeness

There are three main types of completeness that need to be considered with regard to data quality. Completeness of

• coverage - ie the proportion of data available for the area of interest
  
  
• classification - ie the assessment of how well the classification represents the data
  
  
• verification -ie the amount and distribution of field measurements or other independent sources of information that were used to develop the data
  

Assessments of these factors are important for determining appropriate use of the data.
