Data quality

There will always be some inaccuracies in a GIS. It is therefore important to know the quality of the data, to judge how appropriate its use is for particular applications.

It is possible to use digital data for a wider range of applications, and by a wider range of people with a wider range of skills, than non-digital data, so it is important to consider its quality otherwise it may be used inappropriately.
