Source sink dynamics
Source-sink dynamics exist within landscapes where at
least two sorts of habitats are present. There is one or more favourable
'source' habitat where birth rates exceed death rates and one or more
'sink' habitat where death rates exceed birth rates.
Sink habitats are inhabited because individuals in source
habitats control access to resources and force less dominant individuals
into these sink habitats.
