Your thesis will be examined by two examiners. These will be chosen by the Unit Coordinator, in consultation with you and your supervisor(s). At least one examiner will be from CDU.

• Assessment Form used to mark theses based on experimental or observational studies.
• Assessment Form used to mark theses based on literature reviews or other desk-top studies.

The following general considerations serve as a guide to what examiners will be looking for in your thesis.

• Is there sufficient background provided to justify the aims of the study?

• Are the objectives explicitly stated?

• Is the scope of the project clearly defined?

• Is the methodology or procedures clearly described (this is relevant to a research project, evaluation of management process or a literature review based thesis).

• Does the student show an understanding of the assumptions, limitations, and problems with the methods used?

• Are the analysis and interpretation adequately done and clearly presented?

• Are the project outcomes clearly described?

• Are the project outcomes discussed with adequate reference to other published studies?

• Are the outcomes clearly related to the project's aims and/or objectives?

• Are limitations/problems made clear?

• Are conclusions or management recommendations based on evidence?

• Is the project clearly and correctly written?

• Are figures and tables used effectively, presented effectively and cited correctly?

• Is there an adequate consideration of relevant literature and/or primary sources of information? Are these adequately acknowledged?

• Is the reference list correct?
