Overview
Enhancing student-centred approaches to
teaching and learning is an important focus at CDU.
Professional development workshops for CDU staff are coordinated by People Management and Development (PMD).
Under the auspices of PMD, the Teaching and Learning Development Group (TLDG) provides teaching and learning professional development programs to further support this goal and to provide academic staff with resources to develop, engage, and strengthen their practice. TLDG aims to meet the needs of academics to further augment these principles by providing faculty-tailored professional development services including the following:
- Training Package implementation
- Embedding graduate attributes or employability skills
- Unpacking units of competency, and desiging learning and assessment activities
- Validation of assessment
- Communities of practice (building knowledge to promote teaching and learning best practice to strengthen competencies and expertise);
- Educational design (support and innovative ideas for course/unit development and improvement);
- E-learning forums (learnline workshops, web & multi-media support);
- Resource production support;
- Formal & informal teaching & learning seminars;
- Mentoring.
