Recommended hardware

Minimum 2GB of RAM or higher is recommended for optimal performance.
Minimum 1GB of free disk space.
Sound card and speakers.
Headphones and microphone are required to participate in Online Classrooms and/or online discussions. External speakers or microphones, particularly built-in microphones, are generally NOT suitable due to feedback issues. CDU recommends USB headsets and microphones. Please check with your Course Coordinator whether there are Online Classroom or Voice tools components.
A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 is recommended.

Internet Connection

High speed broadband connection recommended.
Using dial-up via modem is possible but not recommended, you may experience performance issues with certain Learnline features.

Our experience has indicated that the preferred browser for Learnline use is the latest Firefox release combined with the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 or 7.

Students using MS Windows will require Java versions 1.6, or 1.7 (Java SE 6 & Java E7) to use Blackboard Learn and Blackboard Collaborate. The JRE can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Those using Mac OSX will require Apple Java 1.5.0_16 +(J2SE5-32 bit) , Apple Java 1.6.0_07 +(J2SE6-64 bit) or Oracle Java 1.7
