External Examinations
All students who reside more than 80km outside of a CDU Campus or Centre must submit external exam registration details. Failure to make invigilation arrangements and to return the appropriate registration form by the due date may jeopardise a student's opportunity to sit for examinations.

Submitting your form
Please ensure that you read all information carefully before submitting your form.
- Familiarise yourself with the examination timetable: http://skua.cdu.edu.au/swseven/. Examination dates and times can also be located under Current Students/Timetables linked from the front page of the CDU web site. The first draft becomes available approximately six weeks before the exam period but a check of the final timetable needs to be undertaken four weeks before the exam period, as details may have changed.
- Contact the tertiary institution of your choice (e.g. VET Centre, TAFE, Training Centre, Learning Network, Telecentre, University or similar) to arrange your examination supervision with the venue, advising date and session time (a.m. or p.m. – refer timetable). A booking is necessary so that the venue can plan for your invigilation, seating and room allocation requirements. Don't miss out - venues fill quickly so make your arrangements early and submit your form without delay!!
- When you have finalised your exam arrangements, please submit your registration form/s electronically via: External Exam Arrangement Form . The name and correct address of the contact person is essential.
- It is the responsibility of the candidate to contact their examination centre two weeks before the exam to ensure they have the exam paper, the date, location and time of the exam. If your centre has not received the documents, you must contact External Student Support immediately on 08 8946 6483 or email: externalexaminations@cdu.edu.au.
Your co-operation is essential for us to process registration forms thereby ensuring timely delivery of exams to relevant institutions/supervisors, both within Australia and overseas.
General external exam information
- Misreading your examination timetable is not considered sufficient grounds to apply for special consideration. You should not use private exam supervisors unless you are in an area where you cannot obtain invigilation services from your local tertiary organisation. Approval to use a private invigilator is required, so please check details with us in the first instance by emailing externalexaminations@cdu.edu.au or phoning: 08 8946 6483
- Examination dates and times cannot be changed
- Late submission of form/s will not be accepted after our deadlines have closed.
- Students studying in external mode who live over 80 km from campus will receive an email to their CDU email account in the weeks leading up to exam periods.
- If you have submitted an External Exam Arrangement Form but for some reason need to change the arrangements, you must notify us of the changes prior to the exam taking place. If you have booked an exam with another institution but need to cancel, please advise the relevant institution at least 24 hours before your exam, otherwise any subsequent costs invoiced to us may be passed on to you.
- Please ensure that you have allowed yourself time to make alternative family and employment arrangements to attend the scheduled exam.
- If you are experiencing difficulties and need to seek special consideration for medical or personal issues that may interfere with the scheduled examination arrangements, please contact Support and Equity Services.
- Photo ID must be taken to an exam, a student card or driver’s license is ideal. If you do not have a student card and wish to have one, you can apply for one here http://www.cdu.edu.au/studentnet/scard.html.
Interstate exam locations
Other institutions, particularly universities, run two exam sessions per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Within Australia, these times generally overlap with the times when exams are in session on CDU campuses. If this is not the case please contact us for further advice.
