Sitting Exams
Before the exam
Waiting for an exam can often seem like you are on a never-ending staircase - every step you take seems to increase the number of steps in front of you. These feelings are often brought on by your apprehension about the unknown content of the exam. You can ease that sense of apprehension and put yourself in control.
- Avoid exam-day cramming
- Stick to your regular meal routine on the day of the exam
- Before you leave home check that you have everything that you will need for the exam
- Allow plenty of time.
Keep reminding yourself:
- That it is natural to feel nervous or apprehensive before an exam. Even performers who have been on the stage for fifty years still feel nervous before a performance
- To use one or more of your relaxation techniques to help you maintain your sense of control.
