Effective Study
Many subjects at university will require that you submit regular assignments. Common forms of assignments are:
- Essays
- Law essays
- Book reviews
- Annotated bibliographies
- Reports: business, laboratory, research
- Tutorial/seminar papers
There is a considerable overlap between these types of assessment. A book review or research report might be required in essay format. A tutorial paper might be in the form of an essay, a laboratory report, or a series of problem-solving exercises.
In all of these forms of assessment you will be expected to engage in critical thinking, which means:
- Analysing problems or issues
- Constructing arguments
- Expressing your thoughts clearly.
