Databases

Databases are used to find articles relevant to your research.

Accessing databases

From the Library homepage click on the Databases and E-Journals link

A description is given for each database to enable you to choose the most suitable one for your topic. You can select databases by name or by subject grouping.

For the purposes of this tutorial we will be looking at EbscoHost so select the letter E to locate EbscoHost. You will need to authenticate using your Student Computer Account when accessing the journal databases from off campus.

*To learn more about a database check the Help screen for user tips.

When you first begin at university you won’t really know which is the best database for you to choose. Subject Guides have been developed for many of the major areas of study. Check through the drop down list to locate one for your area. Once you become familiar with a few databases you will be able to access them simply by clicking on the first letter of the name of the database you want to use.
