Searching From Scratch
If you are looking to find what resources are available on a topic use Quick Search and select the Keyword anywhere option.
Starts with search
If you have a specific title in mind, you can use the Browse Search and use the Title begins with option.
Advanced searching
Advanced Search allows you to search in a more comprehensive way. You are able to combine searches (eg. Title,Author and Journal Keywords), place limits ( library, location or format).
Elements of catalogue records
Basic Search results
you will see a list of titles that match your search. Each record will include Title, Author, the Call No.(needed to locate the book on the shelf), the date of publication. Where the book is available or if it is on loan to someone else.
Individual title record
when clicked on, it will show the following information:
Title: Complete title details.
Brief
Author: personal or corporate (eg. Jones, Brian OR Northern Territory Government)
Publisher: Place of publication, Name of publisher, Year of publication.
Link: Links to full text or more information where available.
Call No: Needed in full, number and letters, to find the book on the shelves.
A look inside
Where available, provides extra information such as:
Summary
Table of contents
Full record
Subjects: Words or phrases describing the main subjects the book deals with. These are very useful for locating resources on similar topics.
